Weekly Review
Last week, I reviewed the Heinz Baked Beans which honestly, were AWFUL! The level of disdain I have for those beans is just out of character but unfortunately, deserved.
This week, I wanted to highlight baked beans that accomplishes what the Heinz Baked Beans are trying to do but 1000% better. I'm talking about Amy's Vegetarian Traditional Baked Beans!
It's not a campfire bean, not a brown-sugar bomb, not one of those smoky backyard BBQ cans... it's a nice and pleasant all-rounder! The tomato-forward sauce is like the Heinz but with an addition of maple sweetness. It is versatile to eat with toast, which is what I'm generally doing with it, but also a nice side to any lunch or dinner. If you want a cozy vegetarian baked bean that won’t overwhelm the plate, Amy is your gal.
This bean is actually one of my pantry staples but I can't give it a perfect score because 1) there always needs to be a ceiling to work toward 2) it's a little pricey!
